The Benefits and Welfare Committee
The Benefits and Welfare committee is a standing committee of NESTA. As outlined in the NESTA constitution, its aims are:
A number of volunteers serve on the committee every year, working on various issues of interest. In 2007, the committee successfully campaigned for a 10% increase to the Special Allowance following substantial increases to rental prices in Hong Kong.
An ongoing focus of the committee is to highlight and discuss solutions to the difficulties in educating NETs’ children in Hong Kong.
Any NESTA member is able to come forward to join the committee when nominations are being sought by the NESTA Executive committee. For more information about the Benefits and Welfare committee, e-mail bw@nesta.hk

- to monitor the remuneration package in recruiting qualified and experienced NETs to the scheme by keeping up-to-date information and statistics on the different aspects of the package;
- to monitor deployment practices to ensure that the deployment of NETs in schools is effective in helping NETs achieve the aims of the scheme;
- to request that the EDB review aspects of the remuneration package and/or deployment issues as and when necessary;
- to provide regular reports to the membership on the committee's work.
