Professional Development
NESTA organises a number of Professional Development and English Learning Fairs each year, which are well attended by local English teachers and NETs alike.
A variety of workshops on topics of interest to all teachers in Hong Kong are presented, for example, Oral Activities for Reluctant Speakers, Drama in the Primary Classroom or Newspapers on the Run: Using Today’s Newspaper Today.
Want to present a workshop at a future event?
The PD committee is always looking for individuals or organisations who are willing to lead a workshop that is both relevant and useful to NETs and LETs at either primary or secondary level (or both).
There is a wonderful pool of talent and experience out there in the Hong Kong teaching community. The committee encourages you to come forward and share your expertise with other teaching professionals.
Service Providers
An important element of the NESTA PD Days is the presence of an ever-growing number of educational companies who display their products and services – all to enhance the English teacher’s efforts in and out of the classroom.
Service Providers cover areas such as book sales, online programs, ELT materials, language camps, educational technology and student newspapers.
